Fireside Tax providing professional tax, accounting and payroll services since 2004

Fireside Tax through the years

Timothy P. Singo founded Fireside in 2004 as a freelance paralegal business. The name “Fireside” was inspired by the fireplace in the basement room where Tim began his work, and the logo is an image of that very fireplace. As the business expanded, it moved to Canton Centre Mall for about five years before relocating across from Central Catholic, where it remains today.

Tim’s extensive experience in probate, particularly in handling the complex taxes and accounting of estates, led to an increasing number of clients seeking his tax and accounting services. Realizing his passion and talent for this work, Tim pursued further education, earning an accounting degree in addition to his prior qualifications. His combination of reasonable pricing and excellent service has fueled steady growth, even as the number of paid preparer returns has declined.

Since 2012, when Fireside transitioned into a full-service accounting firm, it has offered payroll, bookkeeping, and accounting services to an ever-growing clientele. Fireside has supported many businesses from their inception to becoming million-dollar enterprises.

Today, Fireside Tax leverages state-of-the-art software and personalized consultations to deliver accurate returns and financial documents. Our knowledgeable team, currently comprising four accountants and two administrative assistants, is continuously expanding.

Whether you’re a full-time employer, a sole proprietor, a freelancer, or a retiree, Fireside Tax is fully staffed and equipped to assist you with all your financial needs.

Why the fireplace?

People often ask why I named my business Fireside and chose a brick fireplace for the logo. The fireplace featured in the logo is the one in my home office where the business began. While searching for a name that would evoke positive images, I sat in this room with its dominant fireplace, which I loved. I often spent cold winter nights reading by the fire, or toasting marshmallows and making s’mores with my wife and kids. The choice became clear, so I used a digital camera to create the logo and named the business Fireside Services. Later, I renamed it Fireside Tax to avoid confusion with fireplace or chimney services.

After moving to Canton Centre Mall, I realized something was missing. With a bit of creativity, I built a stage prop fireplace, which has accompanied me through every move. Today, it sits in the waiting room at our current location on West Tusc.
